Nor has it any use for non-rational modes of perception, such as intuition, emotion and love. Yet what kind of world will we create for ourselves if we dismiss these qualities from our discourse and understanding?
A poetic approach, on the other hand, is both intuitive and precise. Based on observation and imagination, it reveals its vision with simplicity, elegance, concreteness and ingenuity, and can provide a necessary counterpoint to our current obsession with rationality.”
