April is National Poetry Month – 30 wonderful days to celebrate and express thoughts for today’s world through poetry.
The Academy of American Poets created this celebratory month as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States.
National Poem in Your Pocket Day is observed each April and this year it falls on Thursday April 26, 2018. This day was created to share the joy that poems bring by carrying one in your pocket and sharing it throughout the day with others. Across the country, businesses, libraries, schools and individuals share many wonderful poems.
